Chemistry sketches,
drawn at the speed of thought.

Hexink is a hex-snapping molecular editor for the iPad and the web. Sketch the structure, scribble the mechanism on top, and ship a single short link — valence-aware, gesture-driven, and all in one warm canvas from your first stroke to the final SVG.

Built around the way chemists actually draw.

Every interaction is one tap, one stroke, one gesture. The editor stays out of your way and the chemistry stays correct.

Mark up like the whiteboard

Switch to the annotate layer and scribble curly arrows, pen strokes, and text labels right on top of the structure. The molecule stays vector-clean; your annotations live alongside in their own undo stack so a stray scrawl never costs you the drawing.

Curly arrows that route themselves

Drop a two-tap mechanism arrow and Hexink curves the shaft around bonds it would otherwise cross. Drag the midpoint to nudge, drop a waypoint to lock the path. Triangle heads now; resonance heads are next.

Share a short link

Every export ships with a tiny URL — open it on any device and the molecule pops up in the editor, ready to remix. Pro shares carry your annotations along too, so the recipient sees the mechanism, not just the skeleton.

Draw like you mean it

Pointy-top hex snapping keeps bond angles honest without nagging you. Pen, finger, or mouse — same fast pipeline, with palm rejection while a pencil is active.

Live valence balance

Implicit hydrogens, charges, and bond orders update in real time. One tap auto-promotes bonds to satisfy valence; overvalent atoms light up before you commit.

Hill formula, instantly

Molar mass, exact mass, logP, TPSA, H-bond donors and acceptors — all in a floating HUD while you draw, computed server-side via RDKit and cached.

Reactions, predicted

Sketch two fragments — esterification, amidation, etherification — and Hexink ranks the likely products with a confidence score. One tap to materialise the product graph.

Gestures over menus

Triangle → cyclopentane. Circle → benzene. Zig-zag → alkane chain. Figure-eight → cyclooctane. Cross-out to delete. Long-press for the radial picker.

iPad-first

Two-finger pan and pinch, safe-area aware UI, Apple Pencil hover. Add to Home Screen and it runs full-bleed without a browser chrome.

Accounts that stay out of the way

Sign in with Google or email to keep your library across devices — or skip the signup and draw anonymously, locally, with nothing leaving the browser.

No watermark exports

Vector SVG for slides and papers, crisp 2× PNG for the camera roll, copyable SMILES for downstream tools. Pro unlocks ad-free exports and reaction figures.
